Roger Hair
Roger Hair serves as President of Hawk East,
Inc.
He has over 25 years of combined law enforcement and security
experience. Roger began his security career while in college by working for an agency
whose clients included entertainers Bonnie Raitt and Billy Joel, columnist Jack
Anderson, as well as then
U.S. Senator William Proxmire. Major Hair entered law enforcement service in 1979
and retired from full-time service in 2000 having reached the position of Chief Deputy for a 150 member
sheriff's office. He continues to serve as a reserve officer with his home town police department.
Roger has extensive training and experience in HRT /SRT
operations as well as operational command experience in VIP
protection. In 1991,
he co-founded Hawk East, Inc., a training company based in North
Carolina. Since 1995, Roger has concentrated on
developing law enforcement and security's first detailed video training series
devoted to VIP Protection . In that capacity, he worked with the principle instructors for each course
segment in developing lesson
outlines and teaching plans. Roger served as an assistant instructor in all
three videos in addition to his duties as Executive Producer for the Body
For Hire™ video series.
He is a member of ASIS, NRA, ASLET, and PADI. He was recently
appointed the North Carolina State Director for the International Association of
Personal Protection Agents (IAPPA). Roger holds a Bachelor’s Degree in
Justice and Policy Studies from Guilford College. He is a
POST certified law enforcement instructor in North Carolina. His Cop/Stk®
Baton defensive tactics course has been included in
the North Carolina Basic Security Officer's Training program. He is
an occasional contributing editor for Police & Security News for
issues on SRT and VIP protection.
